Inside a 30-foot area is everything a doctor could need to provide routine care to patients: two exam rooms, a lab area with freezers full of vaccines, even an infant bed for baby exams.
But instead of being inside a hospital, this unit sits in the parking lot of Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Shepard branch twice a week. The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s latest mobile health clinic, the Community Care Coach, is one of several mobile clinics for underinsured and uninsured Columbus residents that is resuming some normal operations after the pandemic forced them to adapt their care.
