Monterey County Library
The First Environmentally–Friendly Bookmobile
In addition to a low floor design and bus style electric entrance door the new 2023 Farber 30EF includes many environmentally friendly features to provide a green and quiet bookmobile.
- No Wood: The body is constructed of aluminum frame work with walls, floor and ceiling manufactured with composite material. Composite material is sustainable no deforestation necessary, half the weight of wood, will not grow mold or mildew, contains no formaldehyde and offers superior thermal insulation.
- Lithium-Ion Power System: An electric power system has been engineered specifically for this vehicle to deliver a green experience without compromising performance. With real power capacity, the system fully replaces or significantly reduces the need for a generator or idling the chassis engine.
- Solar panels are mounted to the roof of the vehicle to maintain charge on chassis and auxiliary batteries. The monocrystalline solar kit provides high solar cell efficiency, reliable EL tested solar modules with corrosion-resistant aluminum frame.
